Democrats CAN'T come to the Middle.
but they most certainly will tell you that they have.
Every time a fringe leftwinger runs for office, the media lies to you and tells you they came to the middle. A recent example of this is the failed campaign of Kamala Harris. The media repeatedly said she came to the middle on all sorts of issues, but there was no evidence for that.
At no point did Kamala Harris say she no longer believed trans illegals should have access to sex changes; the media just said she changed her mind. She never said that she no longer believes that trans women and real women are exactly the same; the media just implied that she did.
The left doesn’t come to the middle because the left can’t come to the middle. Democrats have a very strict set of ideological rules you must follow to be a Democrat. They are collectivists, and if you don’t agree with the collective, you are not welcome in their ranks. This is why so many people have been pushed out of the Democrat Party. Democrats won’t win again until they shatter this collectivism and make room for diverse opinions. The collective will resist that.
Democrat religious doctrine believes that men in girls’ sports is not a problem. Why? Because those men think they are women, therefore they are! There is absolutely no room in the Democrat Party for debate on this issue. A recent CNN panel had a grown white Liberal man absolutely melt down at the thought of even talking about this issue differently. You absolutely MUST watch it! The majority of the public does not believe that trans women are the same as real women. The collectivist hive mind of the Democrat base will not allow anyone in their party who believes differently on this issue.
At some point, the angry old rich white women that make up the Democrat base got it in their heads that building a border wall was racist! That rapidly evolved into any border security being racist. That belief is what led to over 10 million illegals pouring into our country in just 4 years under President Biden. The left literally made defending our own borders a Republican thing. Well, once again, the left is out of touch with where Americans are. Most Americans want a secure border and deportations for illegals. The collectivist hive mind of the Democrat Party would not allow anyone with that mindset in their party. Sure, they will take your vote, but you will have no representation in their party.
Abortion is the Democrats' secret weapon; except they are again out of step. The majority of people do not want a full abortion ban, especially in extreme situations like saving the life of the mother. The Democrats interpreted this to mean the whole nation is as extreme on abortion as they are. That is not correct. The majority of Americans do not believe in abortion up to the point of birth. Most polls show that Americans think abortions should be done very early or not at all. Most people believe abortions should be rare and not the go-to practice. To say that abortions should not be used as contraceptives is a very mainstream position, but the collectivists in the Democrat Party would banish you from the party for saying such a thing. Again, they have taken an unpopular hard-lined position and demanded that everyone in the party have that unpopular position.
The Democrat Party’s need to bend the knee to fanatics in the base is killing the party. If you tell people they have to be an insane person to be a Democrat, they will just not be a Democrat. The Democrats will not recover until they start ignoring the loudest voices in the room and start listening to the quiet whispers of the center. Considering the loud base are the ones that vote in primaries, I don’t see how the Democrat Party heals. They have no room for moderate voices. They actively drive them away because they don’t agree with the collective.
The Democrat Party will die because the base is insane.
