Chinese traditional medicine is not just about the physical but about the spiritual as well. They address the chi energy in the body too. If chi is blocked this can cause physical symptoms as well. They know the spirit, mind and body are all connected, which I tend to agree with. The Western science of psychology is also in agreement with this although Western “science” tends to ignore the spiritual component.
The way Chinese traditional medicine works is you pay a doctor every month. Then when you get sick you go to the doctor, you don’t pay for the visit, you only pay for herbs or medicine you are prescribed. This ensures the doctor really knows what they are doing and the herbs are free of contaminants. If the doctor doesn’t know what they are doing they will soon be out of business.
I thought this was an interesting business model.
Concierge Medicine is as close as we get here to traditional Chinese Medicine, but not many doctors have the business acuity to make it happen. Corporate medicine has ruined medical care in the US.
