An Unexpected Virus Culprit (Epstein-Barr Virus) is Found in Long-COVID. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a bigger threat than we thought, and we still don’t know how to treat it. EBV normally pops up during times of stress and lowered immunity (stress is one of many factors that lower immunity).
One unique trait of herpesviruses is the ability to stay latent (i.e., dormant) in the infected host for life. In this latent state, the herpesvirus is inactive, and no virus replication occurs. But in times of stress or immunosuppression, latent herpesvirus can reactivate, start replicating and cause problems.
Is long-Covid one of the symptoms of herpesvirus reactivation?
Studies have now found that might actually be the case in some but not all long-Covid cases —with the culprit being Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), also known as human herpesvirus 4.

EBV can cause infectious mononucleosis, also called mono, and other illnesses.
Symptoms of EBV infection can include
fatigue, sometimes extreme or lasting 4 weeks or more
fever
inflamed throat, which can also be ulcers in the throat
swollen lymph nodes in the neck
enlarged spleen
swollen liver
rash
We still don’t have a cure for EBV, perhaps some anti-virals would work. The treatment now is bed rest, reducing stress, and lots of water.
Please comment below if you have any other information to add about the link between EBV and long COVID. We’d like to hear from you!
The only people I know who've had the above symptoms are people who were vaxxed. 3 in my neighborhood of 7 homes. The only people I know who've lost a young adult child were those who took and recommended the jab to their kids. Please don't trust this government! I had Covid in March 2020 and nothing since then. Not vaxxed. How convenient that nobody wants to talk about any conditions that contain the word Herpes, but the symptoms of so-called long covid match.
