Do smart people make better decisions? Probably. They know the value of doing your own research to verify if something is a fact or just fantasy. Or do they?
One KFF poll shows that 79% of college grads got the untested Emergency Use Only jab.
From Rasmussen: Political beliefs had a high correlation with getting the untested jab. More than 86% of Democrats had already gotten the jab when they took the poll. Demographic breakdown tables here. Rasmussen is generally believed to be a more honest poll, except by people who support censorship.

Vaccine hesitancy poll from March 2021. The partisan divide on vaccination, explained in 3 charts. 16.7 percent of US adults are fully vaccinated. CBS News released a poll conducted between March 10 and 13 which found 33 percent of Republicans say they won't get the vaccine when it becomes available to them, while just 10 percent of Democrats said the same. A Rasmussen survey/poll that asked people about major vaccine side effects shows the COVID-19 vaccine has elevated dangers. 7% of those surveyed had a major side effect, which has never happened with any vaccine. "Being educated" is not an indicator of being smart or intelligence as anyone can be taught just about anything. Moreover, whether knowledge is retained is unknown. Education may be an opportunity to learn, however.
Critical, logical thinking, questioning, effective problem solving skills, common sense with the ability to retain a good knowledge base and the willingness to challenge and expand one's knowledge are all things that allow one to be "smart" at some point, depending on the topic.
I worked with a lot of highly educated people, BS, MS, & PhD's. Many if not most of these went all in for the shots. In fact, many talked (bragged) about the fact that they took either the Pfizer or Moderna shots. I told a few not to take the shots but they did it anyway.
Since I live in a very impoverished section of the country, I also know a lot of trade people and retail merchants. They refused to take the shots and knew more about the dangers than the professionals I worked with. I also learned that MDs and nurses, in general, are not very smart. Many kept up with the booster shots and believed that masks actually work to stop viral spread.
The under educated class appears to be much smarter than trained professionals that should have know about cells, RNA, DNA, immunology, etc.
I told the "smart" professionals that we ignored most everything mankind has learned over the last 300 years about disease spread and how the human body works. Of course they disagreed with me.
