Personally, I think Trump has to get this to pass Congress and I don’t think he can do it. Trump is a sales man. He has done many things, but he has done few of the major things he has promised.
One of the larger things he has tackled is securing the border. He is in the process of exposing the corruption of many federal agencies and their leadership. But there is no sign of any arrests for the biggest players.
So first he has to expose the corruption of many US agencies, close them down (thus trimming the budget). Only then will he have a chance of decreasing taxes. He could decrease taxes by increasing the federal tax exemption (which is currently zero) or increasing the standard deduction to $150,000 per person. This would be well in line with 1906 levels. Also notice the lack of US media coverage on this issue.
Only time will tell.
