Since around 2005 there has been an increase in soy products with soy milk and soy burgers in the US. Soy has estrogenic compounds, that means the body thinks it’s seeing estrogen, it cannot tell the difference between soy estrogenic compounds and real estrogen. So the body reacts to the estrogen. This can help women with menopause symptoms but it’s unclear if this is safe for men to take.
