Facts about United Healthcare. Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of United Healthcare, got hacked and now doctors could not file claims and doctors were not getting paid. So UH bought out many doctor offices. Now UH owns pharmaceutical companies, owns the insurnace companies, owns the providers and is in trouble with the DOJ. They are now the company that processes their own claims and they have no reason to keep processing or paying those claims. UH is the main insurance for Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare. UH denied more claims than any other insurance company in the market. And they have been sued in the 1990s for violating their own contracts by refusing to pay for treatments which the contract said, in writing, would be paid for. They deny, and people die. United Healthcare being investigated by DOJ for "surge in denial" of payments to the insured. The payment denials were mainly for seniors who have suffered falls or strokes for some odd reason. In 2022 the denials for "post-acute care" went from 10% to 22%.
