Vape smoke shows masks don't work (to stop viruses).
Here’s a video from 2020. A doctor uses vape smoke to show masks don't work. They don't seal around the edges, so it doesn't matter if the fabric stops microscopic aerosolized particles or not (it doesn't).
I have asthma. I used to do woodworking. I tried the stiff white mask style he tests here. It didn’t seal against my face and fine wood dust will still get in my lungs leading to coughing fits.
During woodworking when using a table saw, or electric sander, very fine particles of wood dust would stay airborne for hours from even the slightest air currents. Even an electric sander with a bag still won’t filter out the smallest wood dust particles, the holes in the fabric bag are far too large. In a similar fashion, when a person coughs they release microscopic aerosolized particles that could contain virus. Air travels in the path of least resistance. So when using these masks, first the material doesn’t filter out the aerosolized particles. Second the particles just go around the edges of a mask.
For the studies that show masks don't stop circulation of viruses go to https://wordsalad.info/tag-masksdontwork.html You will also notice that no government official can provide a study which shows these style of masks work to stop the spread of viruses, because a well-done study doesn’t exist.

Oct 25, 2022: I just noticed the Wordsalad site is not responding. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
