The way I see it is the world is run by people who own everything, including the judiciary. They will allow minor cases to win, mask mandates for example, just to let you believe there is hope. The barristers swear oath to the Bar, Temple Bar in the City of London, the financial centre of the world which is a separate entity and does not follow any laws of UK or anywhere.
