Bacca, I am a retired attorney. I have read the USSCt case cited as proof of being able to patent Human beings. This case does NOT stand for that proposition at all! Nowhere near it.

The reasoning in this case is narrow and in the area of patent law. The question turned on whether the cDNA Myriad created was a natural product or not. The court held that in this case Myriad created a useful non-naturally occurring molecule and they could patent from there. That is all.
