I would add that a friend or family member should be present at all times during the hospital stay to monitor if the person is comatose, lethargic, or otherwise incapacitated. We almost lost a family member when a nurse turned off a machine keeping the person alive to do some maintenance on it and forgot to turn it on. Had the family member not caught the mistake the resulting death would have been called a normal consequence of the disease when it was iatrogenic induced death. Police wear body cameras, hospital personnel should have to wear them!
